Allow us to intruduce ourselves, we’re Kyra and Genito and, along with our young daughter, we run the Sunset Dream Bed and Breakfast.
We opened our bed and breakfast a short time ago although Genito has been busy promoting tourism and the amazing Ilhe de Mozambique for almost 20 years. He started while he was a child just by chatting to tourists on the streets after school. After finding that it was something that he had a passion for he eventurally trained as a guide with UNESCO. Genito acts as the guide during the walking tours and also the boat trips. He loves to be able to make people feel comfortable on the tours and to help them learn about, and experience, the local culture.
A few years ago we opened a small craft shop to provide local artisans with a place to show their amazing work. It also acts as a fixed point for tourists on the island to be able to get information on the sights and activities available on the island.
When we opened the Sunset Dream Bed and Breakfast it was the culmination of our dreams for our life on the island. Welcoming visitors gives us such pleasure and knowing that we can help to show real everyday life on the island is a continuing challenge and goal that we’re both more than happy to step up to. We want our bed and breakfast to be a place that everyone can come to and experience the island’s culture. With this in mind we made sure that we had rooms available that would suit every budget. We want to make sure that everyone feels at home when they stay with us – whether that’s cooking together with us or interacting with each other on the terrace and there’s always the feeling of tranquility soothed by the sound of the sea in the background.
